LEAVE IT ON THE ROAD

This land of giants
Through the valleys and o’er the hills
Take a photograph
This scene is beautiful
Shoreline highways, towns we pass by
Our plans feel far and few
As the light changes
So does the view

We’ll find ourselves
In the hard light of day
On the open road
Hoping love will find a way
To drive us, revive us and
Thrive us
You know that nothing gold can stay

Shadows break into a million pieces
Light dances on the road
As the darkness bleeds in like whispers
Our truths will be told

Chasing dreams that hold no chance
Counting signs, watching the lines
Getting caught in the distance
Miles between our words but we’ll it
Leave it on the road
Leave it on the road
